Stephanie Schafer
Director of CommunicationsStephanie started July 2025 as the new director of communications, filling in the big shoes left by Greg Olgers who served in the role for 36 years! She’s excited to be leading Hope’s storytelling, editorial and earned media strategy to build awareness and preference for the Hope College brand. She will be partnering with her Public Affairs and Marketing team of sports information directors, Alan and McKenzie, and campus photographer and digital asset manager, Lynne Powe.
She is originally from Holland and is back after a 24-year absence working in Wisconsin.

Stephanie is proud to be one of many people who promote and support the Hope vision so students have a successful experience that will help them serve and succeed in their professional and personal lives.
Outside hope
Stephanie loves to play and watch many sports — specifically volleyball, racquet sports, running and obstacle course races. An active lifestyle makes her feel better about cooking and eating many different foods from around the globe! In addition, she enjoys traveling to new countries.
