Mercede Daugherty is the assistant director of marketing in the Bookstore at Hope College. She has also been blessed with the opportunity to coach and teach at Hope College, serving as the assistant softball coach as well as a Health Dynamics (KIN-140-012 F22) instructor. 

Prior to coming to Hope, Mercede served as an academic coach at Trine University, where she helped students with academic goal setting, learning strategy assistance and time management skills. She graduated in 2022 from Trine University, where she played collegiate softball for five years.

Mercede is a firm believer that if you want something you鈥檝e never had, you have to do something you鈥檝e never done. She strives to create lasting moments and memories that impact those around her in the best possible way. That is why she chose to coach, she chose to teach, and why everyday she wakes up and chooses to lead. 

She is eager to be challenged and to do whatever it takes to accomplish any task set in front of her. She challenges those around her to wake up everyday and do the same. That is how we get better, make those around us better, and better cultivate a culture of excellence.

She is so happy her path brought her to Hope.
